Biography for Carol Parendo
Carol has a long history of helping industry with DOE (Design of Experiments), SPC (Statistical Process Control), GRR (Gage R & R), and related tools. The roots of her experience with SPC came from the disc drive industry. They were later applied to wind/ flow tunnel stability for components of the space shuttle, various rockets and related aerospace applications, both domestically and internationally. Her work began over 20 years ago when these techniques were not widely accepted in industry. Her manufacturing and design engineering experience allowed practical use of these tools and the understanding of the intent and purpose of these tools. From the late 1980s until now she has applied SPC and DOE to various manufacturing processes to produce significant cost reductions and improve product flow. She also served as an educator, helping others apply this knowledge firsthand. She has trained and mentored people in these topics for both industry and academia. Carol earned the position as both a DOE and SPC specialist in her career in the aerospace industry. Carol received her Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
Carol has done some of her own coaching in the area of visual arts. She has coordinated a student art fair at a Stillwater, MN elementary school, including bringing in professional artists for clinics. She is now the Visual Arts Coordinator for ArtReach Alliance, a Stillwater, MN based group where she is developing services for local artists. She has provided training to aspiring artists as well. Her own artwork work can be seen on her website as well as at several local venues.
